It reminds Turtle of when Archie gets back from a sales trip with lots of gifts for Turtle and her mom. Uncle Vernon, who is usually away working in the mountains, returns to Aunt Minnie's. Sadiebelle has said that one day the three of them will buy a house, just like the one they've seen in a catalog, and fulfill their "Hollywood ending." Turtle is doubtful. Archie often brings Turtle gifts and sometimes gives her a little cash. ![]() Sadiebelle has promised Turtle that Archie is different from the long line of boyfriends that have disappointed her before. Sadiebelle's boyfriend, Archie, has arranged for one of his friends to drop Turtle at her Aunt Minnie's house. Turtle's mom, Sadiebelle, has recently taken another job as a live-in housekeeper, and Turtle and her cat are not welcome at the employer's home. The book became a Newberry Honor book in 2011.
